Message from Management

The “More Than Mining” philosophy represents KPC’s fundamental purpose behind everything the Company does and stands for, both as a business entity and as a member of society. This philosophy reflects KPC’s aspiration to be more than a coal mining company, ensuring that its operations in Sangatta create lasting and sustainable value for the people of East Kutai, East Kalimantan, and Indonesia.

To maintain its competitiveness in the mining industry, KPC continuously adapts and transforms the way it operates through digital transformation. This transformation requires the Company to evolve its business models and develop effective strategies that deliver meaningful technological value. The use of smartphones and digital platforms as operational tools has become essential, enabling faster processes, greater transparency, real-time data access, and more responsive continuous improvement.

As a result of its operational excellence, commitment to the More Than Mining philosophy, strong good corporate governance, and comprehensive stakeholder engagement, KPC has received numerous national and international awards. These include the Subroto Award from the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia; the Green Rating under the Company Performance Rating Program (PROPER) from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry; the Sutalaksana Award from the Indonesian Ergonomics Association (PEI); Tax Compliance Company recognition from the Minister of Finance; Gold Rank in the 2019 Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating; multiple awards from the Indonesian CSR Award and Indonesian Mining Award; and the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Award from CNBC Indonesia (2019).

All awards received are the result of harmonious collaboration between KPC and its stakeholders, enabling the Company to deliver its best contributions to the Republic of Indonesia. Our Management

Muhammad Rudy

President Director and Chief Executive Officer

Muhammad Rudy joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 1992 and has since developed a distinguished career in the mining industry. He brings deep expertise in mining operations, mine planning, mining economics, and value creation, underpinned by decades of hands-on leadership experience.

Over the course of his tenure at KPC, he has held a range of strategic and operational roles, including Superintendent of Production, Superintendent of Business Analysis, Manager of Mining Contract, and General Manager in the Contract Mining Division. He later served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Mining Engineering (KTT), before being appointed President Director and Chief Executive Officer of PT Kaltim Prima Coal.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Sriwijaya University.

 

Hendro Ichwanto

Chief Operating Officer

Hendro Ichwanto joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 1997 and has built a solid career through progressive leadership roles across mining operations. With extensive experience in both technical and operational functions, he has developed strong expertise in mine operations, drill and blast management, and pit technical supervision.

Throughout his tenure at KPC, he has held several key positions, including Mining Engineer, Superintendent Drill & Blast, Superintendent Pit Technical, and Mine Manager of Pit Hatari. In recognition of his leadership and operational capabilities, he was appointed General Manager of Mining Operations in August 2012, prior to assuming his current role as Chief Operating Officer.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta.

Subhashish Datta

Chief Financial Officer

Subhashish Datta has over three decades of professional experience in Finance & Accounts, Business and Strategic Planning, Commercial, and Corporate Governance, with deep exposure to the Infrastructure, Power, and Mining sectors. His career reflects extensive involvement in complex, large-scale organizations and multinational environments.

Throughout his professional journey, he has held senior roles with leading organizations, including Tata Power, TRF Ltd (a Tata Steel enterprise), Thiess Minecs India Pvt Ltd, Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd, Powerlinks Transmission Ltd, Stewarts & Lloyds of India Ltd, and Bharat Yantra Nigam Ltd. He spent a significant portion of his career within the Tata Group, serving in various capacities across multiple locations in India.

Datta is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He has completed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, reflecting a strong foundation in finance, governance, and board-level leadership.

Muhammad Raizal

General Manager of Mining Operation

Muhammad Raizal is a seasoned mining professional with strong expertise in mining operations, drill and blast, pit operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. He is widely recognized for his leadership capabilities within the Mining Operations Division (MOD), supported by hands-on operational experience in various performance improvement programs at KPC.

He began his career at KPC as a Drill and Blast Engineer and progressed through a series of technical and operational roles, including Civil, Drainage, and Rehabilitation Planning Engineer, Superintendent Drill and Blast Operations, Superintendent Pit Technical, and Superintendent Pit Operation. He later served as Pit Jupiter Senior Manager and was subsequently entrusted as General Manager of the Mining Operations Division (MOD) in June 2024.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta. In addition to his professional role, he is actively involved as a chairperson and member of the Indonesian Mining Experts Association (PERHAPI), reflecting his commitment to professional development and contribution to the broader mining community.

Eko Fitriandri

General Manager of Finance

Eko Fitriandri is a seasoned finance leader with over 20 years of experience spanning accounting, taxation, treasury, and corporate finance. He has a proven track record in managing large teams, optimizing financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic initiatives across diverse business environments. Prior to joining KPC, he built extensive experience in finance, accounting, and taxation through roles in various companies, including PT Lotte Shopping Indonesia, PT Bumi Resources Tbk, PT Kirinesia Synfab, and PT Dinamika Kiranya.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 2010 as Superintendent Group Financial Coordinator and has since held several key leadership roles within the Finance function, including Accounting and Tax Manager, Treasury Manager, Tax and Government Impost Manager, and Accounting and Reporting Manager. He currently serves as General Manager Finance, a position he has held since 1 February 2021. 

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universitas Trisakti and a Master’s degree in Management from BINUS University, Jakarta.

Rahmad Desmi Fajar

General Manager of Marketing

Rahmad is a highly experienced professional in the mining industry, with extensive experience spanning commercial, finance, strategic business development, and marketing functions. He has been deeply involved in coal value chains, including export and domestic markets, strategic customer management, and revenue optimization.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 1997 and has since built a long-standing career through various roles across finance, strategic management, and marketing functions. His roles include Manager of Accounting, Manager of Finance Project and External Reporting, and General Manager of Strategic Business Development. Since April 2023, he has served as General Manager Marketing.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Accounting) from Padjadjaran University, a Master of Science in Energy Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, City University of London (Chevening Scholar), and a Master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Indonesia.

Wawan Setiawan

General Manager of External Affairs & Sustainable Development

Wawan Setiawan is an experienced professional with strong expertise in community relations, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development within the mining industry. He has extensive experience in managing community programs and external relations to support operational continuity and long-term sustainability.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in April 2003 and has since held a range of roles in community and external relations. His career progression includes positions as Public Relations Specialist, Community Relations Superintendent, Community Support Superintendent, and Bengalon Community Relations and Development Manager, where he was responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of KPC’s community programs in the specified area. Since May 2016, he has served as General Manager External Affairs and Sustainable Development (GM ESD).

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Padjadjaran University, Bandung.

Didik Mardiono

General Manager of Contract Mining Division

Didik Mardiono has more than 20 years of experience at PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC). He brings strong expertise in mine planning and operations, mining economics, and continuous improvement and operational excellence, supported by extensive hands-on leadership across mining operations.

He began his career at KPC as a Mining Engineer and progressed through a series of key operational and managerial roles, including Superintendent Production and Pit Technical, Lead Continuous Improvement – Mining Operations Division, Manager of Strategic Planning, and Manager of Pit Bintang. He later served as General Manager Business Performance and Improvement Division starting in April 2022, before being appointed to his current role as General Manager Contract Mining Division.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Sriwijaya University, Palembang. In addition to his academic background, he is actively involved in the professional community as a member of the Indonesian Mining Experts Association (PERHAPI) and previously served as Chairman of PERHAPI East Kutai for the 2014–2017 period.

Kris Pranoto

General Manager of Health Safety Environment & Security

Kris Pranoto is a mining professional with strong expertise in civil construction, mine reclamation, mine water management, and post-mining planning. His career reflects a solid background in integrating engineering, environmental management, and operational safety to support sustainable mining practices.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 2005 and has since held various key roles across civil and environmental functions. His career progression includes positions as Civil Mine Planning Engineer, Superintendent Reclamation, and Environmental Manager, before being appointed to his current role as General Manager Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) in November 2021.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

Rio Supin

General Manager of Business Development and Risk Management

Rio Supin is an experienced finance professional in Mining Industry, with extensive expertise in accounting and taxation, treasury, asset management, and corporate financing. He brings a strong track record in financial governance, risk awareness, and business development, built through long-standing involvement in the mining industry.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in November 1999, beginning his career as Graduate Accounting. Over the years, he progressed through a series of finance leadership roles, with his last position General Manager of Finance in May 2012. In 2020, he assumed his current role as General Manager Business Development and Risk Management, reflecting the Company’s trust in his financial and strategic capabilities.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Sriwijaya University, which underpins his broad professional experience across finance, taxation, treasury, asset management, and financing functions.

Poltak Sinaga

General Manager of Coal Processing and Handling

Poltak Sinaga has a solid background in project management, operations management, and asset management, particularly in coal processing, bulk material handling, and fixed plant infrastructures. He is recognized for his capabilities in managing complex and large-scale coal supply chain from pit to port.

He started his employment with KPC in 1998 as Graduate Engineer and advanced his career  in various roles before serving the Company as General Manager Coal Processing & Handling since 2015. Over the course of his career at PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), he has demonstrated a proven track record in driving the coal supply chain resilience and optimization as well as in leading business processes improvement. He played a key leadership role in the implementation of multi-disciplinary brownfield and greenfield projects, including crusher facilities, overland conveyors, coal terminals, power plant, and port infrastructure, which supported KPC’s operations expansion.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Doctor (PhD) of Science in Management from the same institution, reflecting his ongoing commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.

Arif Rusmin

General Manager of Business Strategy, Analysis, and Improvement

Arif Rusmin is an experienced mining professional with strong expertise in mine planning and mining economic evaluation, supported by long-standing involvement in strategic planning and performance improvement within the mining industry.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in 2001 as a Mining Engineer and subsequently progressed through a number of key technical and leadership roles. His career at KPC includes positions such as Superintendent Five-Year Planning and Mine Planning Manager, before serving as General Manager Mining Development Division. He later assumed the role of General Manager Business and Performance Improvement, and in September 2025 was appointed General Manager Business Strategy, Analysis, and Improvement.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Sriwijaya University and a Master’s degree in Management from Mulawarman University. In addition, he holds the Competent Person Indonesia (CPI) certification for coal reserve estimation and is a registered member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).

Tina Sirait

General Manager of Supply Chain Division

Tina Sirait is an experienced executive with strong cross-functional expertise spanning mining operations, planning, marketing, human resources, and supply chain management. Her career reflects a rare combination of technical, commercial, and people leadership capabilities within the mining industry, positioning her as one of the prominent women leaders at PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC).

She joined KPC in May 2001 as a Graduate Mining Engineer at Pit Hatari, Mining Operations Division, and subsequently progressed through a series of key roles. Her career journey includes, Senior Staff of Shipping Scheduling, Superintendent of Shipping Scheduling and Logistics, and Manager Sales Operations within the Marketing Division. After more than 19 years in Marketing, she was appointed General Manager Human Resources (HR), before transitioning to her current role as General Manager Supply Chain Division (SCD) in July 2024.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and Master Business Administration (MBA) from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Her extensive career progression across technical, commercial, and corporate functions underscores her versatility and leadership depth within KPC.

M. Iffan Fanani

General Manager of Human Resources

M. Iffan Fanani has more than 20 years of expertise in internal audit, accounting and finance, corporate governance, and organizational development, with work portfolios spanning mining, consulting, service, and education sectors. It reflects his strong analytical depth, governance leadership, and organizational systems. 

Prior to joining KPC, he was Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Indonesia, Superintendent of Internal Audit at BUMI, and other roles in other organizations. He assumed leadership roles within the Internal Audit function of KPC, contributing to the strengthening of good governance and control in KPC. In December 2024, he was appointed General Manager of Human Resources, leading human capital strategy, organizational transformation, and people development.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Management from Universitas Indonesia and also completed a Doctoral Program in Education at Universitas Ibn Khaldun, Bogor. He is certified as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), and Certified Professional Coach (CPC). Beyond his corporate role, he is also actively engaged in education development and community in East Kutai, the KPC Mine Site location.

Seno Alfi Syahrin

General Manager of Mining Development

Seno is an experienced mining professional with nearly two decades of experience in mine planning, contract management, and strategic planning. His expertise covers short-, mid-, and long-term mine planning, reserve evaluation, cost control, and economic analysis, with a strong focus on supporting sustainable Life of Mine (LoM) strategies.

He joined PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) in August 2006 and has since held a series of progressively senior roles. His career includes positions as Pit Short-Term and Mid-Term Planning Engineer, Senior Mining Engineer at CMD–PAMA, and Superintendent Contract Management Section (CMD–TCI). Since May 2017, he has served as Senior Manager Strategic Planning, leading long-term planning and strategic evaluation initiatives. On 1 February 2026, he assumes General Manager of Mining Development.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Trisakti University, an MBA from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), and completed the Professional Engineer Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2023 (Cum Laude). He is actively involved as a chairperson (2017-2020), member of the Indonesian Mining Experts Association (PERHAPI) and is a registered member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
